Benthos ELP-362D Emergency Locator Beacons provides the aviation industry with superior acoustic technology, ruggedness and reliability. Mounted on commercial flight data and voice recorders as well as military aircraft, these beacons will assure the underwater recovery of aircraft and their recorders.
FAA & CAA approved under TSO-C121, the ELP-362D was the first beacon to offer a 6 year user-replaceable battery. Its durable construction insures survival even after high-impact shock. When activated by water, the ELP-362D will operate at depths to 20,000 feet (6000 meters) and continuously send out a signal for a minimum of 30 days.
The ELP-362D is approved for use by all major flight recorder manufacturers including AlliedSignal Aerospace, GEC Marconi, L3 Communications (Loral Fairchild), Sfim Co., and Smiths Industries. The ELP-362D is the beacon of choice, and is backed by Benthos' nearly 40 years of undersea expertise.
We also offer a full line of equipment to aid in the recovery of aircraft lost at sea such as Benthos Pinger Receiver Model Nos. DHS-100 and DPL-275A. These systems detect and zero-in on Locator Beacons from over a mile away.

ATS-260 - ACOUSTIC TEST SET, P/N 006108
The ATS-260 Acoustic Test Set is a small, rugged tester for checking the battery health and operation of ELP-362 Emergency Locator Beacons.
The ATS-260's size is small enough to fit in a tool box, and its battery operated, rugged design, and interchangeable probes allow for testing beacons in tough environments. Tight access spaces will not limit the ATS-260.
A high visibility LED indicates battery status. Beacon operation is verfied by a high-pitched tone and LED readout. The Test Set also includes a small carrying case and interchangeable right angle probe.
BEACON MOUNT, P/N B362-05591
The B362-05591 Mounting Bracket is designed specifically for the ELP-362D Emergency Locator Beacon. This bracket kit includes an aluminum mounting bracket and end plate, three drilled socket head cap screws for lockwire, and three lock washers.
STANDARD BATTERY REPLACEMENT KIT, P/N B362-06192-2
The standard battery replacement kit for the ELP-362D Emergency Locator Beacon includes a non-restrictive lithium battery (p/n C362-04270-2) that can be safely shipped without restriction. It also includes a 2-022 lubricated O-ring, and replacement instructions. The B362-06192-2 supplies continuous operational life for a minimum of 30 days.
OPTIONAL BATTERY REPLACEMENT KIT, P/N B362-06192-1
The optional battery replacement kit for the ELP-362D Emergency Locator Beacon includes a lithium battery p/n C362-04270-1, a 2-022 lubricated O-ring, and replacement instructions. The B362-06192-1 supplies continuous operational life for a minimum of 90 days.
TORQUE WRENCH ADAPTER, P/N 008407
The torque wrench adapter is used to remove the end-cap of the ELP-362D Emergency Locator Beacon during battery replacement. Once the battery is installed, the torque adapter can be used to seat the end-cap and torque to 25 to 30 inch-pounds.
